Dr. Markus Weber (Managing Director) and Tobias Hauptvogel (Principal Marketing & Corporate Communication) introducing the new Pago Report 2007.
|
The first Pago study was published in spring 2002 with the simple aim of analysing real purchase transactions processed through the Pago platform. We wanted to get a better picture of online commerce than that offered by polling surveys of consumers and merchants.
As a result a first overview of the purchasing and paying behaviour of online shoppers was generated. Some surprising facts and conclusions were revealed in the Pago Study 2002 causing broad media interest. The Pago Study 2003, based on the analyses of more than 3.6 million purchase transactions, was published in December 2003 and also generated wide interest. In the run-up to the Pago Study 2004 (published in November 2004) state-of-the-art data-warehousing technology was implemented not only making it possible to analyse about 16.5 million transactions but also enabling us to explore several different online industries. At the end of May 2005) the next study was published under the name Pago Report 2005, which reflected growing international interest. In May 2006, Pago launched the Pago Report 2006 and on June, 5th 2007 the Pago Rerport 2007.
